Port Lincoln local - Nov. 2020

Walking and it's surprising what you find on the roads, they will come in use full one day. No I don't need a bigger shed just yet!

Off to checkout camping sites in the Lincoln National Park where we can not get our caravan. Potential site for an overnighter.

MacLean Point site # 2 not an option as a tent peg test determined it's sheet lime stone over the whole site. Suitable for swags perhaps.
Site #3 the best option. Peggable
Tickle Billy Flat - Snags on the BBQ whilst waiting for a fish or 2 to strike.
No rain, and no FISH!
Sparrows moving in under the car port.
Soon fixed that idea. Gutter guard wedged in place.
Salvaged timber from crate our Giamar shutter came in. Perfect project to fill-in the vertical height. Oh! plus I used all the salvaged screws from said crates.
In progress.
Ready to fill. Even had some insulation ex-King Ash Bay dump. Free standing and tech screwed to the shed beam's.

It's filling fast.

Mod's to previously made fishing tri-pods from salvaged camp chairs. Now with retaining straps to prevent tri-pods collapsing.
Our front view soon to change, as trees will be looped and site built on soon.
How's that for a rose display

Another King Ash Bay dump treasure. Complete never been used.
Let's see what goes up here? Next to Brad.
Neighbours trampoline took a wander across the block during a stiff Westerly.
Yes! it's mid November with summer around the corner and it's still cold! Finally it's official - SOLD!!

Morning walk along the foreshore.
Don't see this from store purchased eggs.
Fresh farm eggs supplied by Chook Cowley.
Progress later in the month.
Getting friendly, approached within 2 meters.
Block getting mowed - fire season is now official.
Dormant rose yanked from under the Bougainvillea, good roots so planted it to see what happens.

Park rocks - SA Rocks
Thelma's Hibiscus
Philip is back - gone t least 3 months.
Busy with his brood.
Trampoline back home.

That's it for Nov. roll on SUMMER!

Sept. Far West Coast - Fowlers Bay - Scotts Beach

Almost a week to slowly get the van loaded for our 2 - 3 week fishing trip to Fowlers Bay - Scotts Beach, alas the weather intervened and we stuck it out for 9 days.

All secure, and on schedule 0730hrs by the time we get in the Troopy, van hitched on and Troopy warmed up.

No hanging around, Sue's off

150k's and 2 hours later breakfast
up the road at Ellison

After a brief stop in Ceduna for fuel, we are setting up camp at Scotts beach. 548k's, 6.9 hour drive time, average speed 80kph, 17.2LHK.
Reckon it's time for liquid refreshments, awning and annex can wait till the AM.
The only one out here.
How ever our weather station takes pride on place.
Soon on the beach at Mexican Hat.
Guess what - no social distancing required here.
How ever there is Covid-19 signage every where,
it's about 1 person per 10 square K's out here.
Another tagged rock for our garden.

Early morning on the reef

Lads from Adelaide getting ready for a surf off the headland. We heard later that one of the blokes got smashed on the rocks and ended up with broken ribs. Session aborted, thus we did not get to see any surfing action.
Yep! it's isolated
Our biggest fish for the duration. Filleted for bait, as we had several White Trevally in the fridge for tea already.
Sue in action
This is Sue catch - yet to be identified
Yep! it's windy and from the East hence the sand hill trees not used to this direction and literally ripped the bush out.
It's close 30 knots folks
Troopy in front of the annex before more damage done
Repairs done. ( at home )

Yep a tad wet, we had 12+ mm
Sorry guys no fish scraps today
2 Days later still fizzing

Finally on the reef at low tide = fresh fish for tea
Scotts beach unfishable with all the weed. Off to catch up with Wayne Davis at Nundroo
Yep, now you have to catch a couple of Wombats to check your Social Distancing
Oh no! now its a kangaroo, confused tourist don't know what to make of it all. Sorry borders closed = no tourist.
Sea dog
It's sure low tide

Well at least we know there is Mulloway food available along the beach - alas no Mulloway

Magic
To difficult to get back in it's bag = abandoned
Water hole on the flats
Wheels changed we don't need this again
Other treasure found
The knife cleaned and sharpened up well. The weather forecast was looking unfavourable for the next week or so. Thus we packed and headed home
Dropped into Clare Bay
Our new neighbours mates place at Clare Bay

Good deep hole in front of his place, churned up and full of weed today.
Cutting thru the sandhill to launch your tinnie
Over night camp south of Haslam.
That states it all, but a good trip and great to be out GLAMPING!
