Far West Coast - Sept. 2019

Off to the Head of the Bight - HOB, or Far West Coast annual fishing trip. Chook will be following solo this year.

Rain overnight – 6.2mm. Rain lifted as we hooked up and on the road 0810hrs. Security door tricky, now sorted.

2.2hrs – Elliston for breakfast – light rain and no wind, but cold!!

Ceduna and wind picking up, refueled and tackle shop for rod tip.

Dropped into to see Reg. not good as the bugger of the big ‘C’ has returned. Off to ADL on Tuesday for more test etc.

1715hrs arrived Scotts – just missed our camp site by 30+ minutes, parked in behind. Rain on and off most of the night.

546ks and 7.3hrs drive time, 18.5lhk, last year 15.5lhk.

Signage found in the scrub, no way should you be driving thru the mud flats.

Most of our 2nd day setting up camp between rain showers, then checked out the beach. 

Sue was soon landing Aussie Salmon.

Evening fish - rumbles and a small Gummy shark


Gummy sharks - all up 8 landed 6 processed food grade.
Aussie Salmon kept us on our toes and bit of action.

Chook arrived around 1600 hrs
Chook arrived late yesterday, turbo hose issues. Otherwise his new Nissan behaved itself.
Sue landed the biggest 'UNDERSIZE' Mullaway 700! Legal is 820

Yep! tires around 26psi all round before hitting the sand hill. We lower tires at the Coombra Gate for a smoother ride.
Penong Servo - now that's what you call a dunny brush. Extra long handle avoids the bending, and more importantly the smell and Shit!
Teddy bear hill overlooking the scenic view of Coffin and Kellidie Bay. Next stop - HOME 1120hrs.
