Sept. - MONDAY 25th - a few days at Scotts Beach / Bay before HOB and camp 2 Guese
All secure and on the road 0715hrs to Scotts Beach – all good with no wind but the Muddies throw the vehicle around on the uneven road. Good road section no issue. Breakfast at Elliston 28 minutes, by pass Streaky Bay and onto Ceduna @ 1245hrs – re-fuel and lunch @ Bills Pizza and carvery – lunch specials $10 roast beef – healthy portions but bland as with over cooked veggies the beef was okay and no tea required it was a big meal.
Fowlers by 1600hrs and dropped into to see Reg, quick chat
and off to set up camp. Reg off to ADL Thursday so will drop in Tuesday. No one
in our camp site – 1630hrs – 1800hrs all set up with BBQQ and Sat. dish
tomorrow.
Drive time 7hrs 30 minutes, 546k’s, avg. 74.3kph and 19.5LHK
with no head wind it’s 4.6lhk better than last year - close to 25ltrs better fuel over the total distance.
Windy until just after midnight.
A tad warm in the sun - put a hat on OUT = 51 and in the shade 37.
Now a landing net for reef fishing on the low tide
Seems it was to hard to fold up again = abandon, we'll see!
Tank ladder - no where to load it safely
Bury this lot
Keep the AXE
My treasures now - frying pan now Sue's bird bath under the Bougainvillea. Plastic welded the water drum, and cap in stock.
It's fizzing - hence the guy ropes
Cooked
breakfast – then Mexican Hat beach to flick a soft plastic – perfect conditions
with my waders on, approx. 1.5k walked till it got too much weed the further I
got around the beach, no strikes, but impressed with the way the soft plastics
moves thru the water – treasures, 30+ meters of long line rope, and 2 x 20ltr
buckets (purple w/o handles) will come in handy.
Sue's jetty
Fished the
corner for KGW on our beach – Sue landed a salmon, no other takers.
The fishing has been
slow but still magic to be out here and the deserted beaches all to ourselves,
almost.
However the irony of
it all is, with 4k’s of beach, a fellow and his partner pulled up less than 50
meters away, we are beach fishing.
He sets up the shade awning off the vehicle
and gets his fishing gear organised in the shade, meanwhile the missus /
partner STRIPS off and LAY'S OUT IN THE SUN!
Sorted the rope - ex-Mexican Hat Beach
It got the better of me - 1/2 an hour and had it folded, one tech screw removed from a repair they attempted, and one release button removed
Now loaded and can will be used as framing
for one of our fruit tree nets.
Visitor
This door looks good____
On his way!
This could have ended badly for someone - hit a hard or soft patch
at that speed = potential roll over.
Tucked in behind the sandhills.
Morning
walk the beach – two fellow’s making the noise until midnight, had rolled out
their swags by the time we returned.
Underground miners at Roxby – getting some
vitamin ‘D’ for a few day above ground.

Tracks in the sand
Packed a ready for an early start in the AM for Geuse
This was okay the previous day on our morning walk - pity they did not stake a tire.
See Ya! at Guese
